Esther Rosa

Art · THE EXHIBITION #4 2026

Born in Madrid, Spain, Esther Rosa is a Spanish American multidisciplinary artist whose remarkable works, whether in paper pulp, painting or sculpture, express the powerful force of transformation. Through composition and colour, she brings to light both archetypal beauty and the brilliance of imperfection.

Her works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States, Europe and Asia. She was notably selected as featured artist for the Creative Mischief exhibition at the National Academy Museum in New York. Esther Rosa also holds a degree in fine arts from the National Academy School of Fine Arts and Museum in New York (2012). She lives and works between Madrid and Miami.

Practice

Her practice questions the dynamics of transformation and adaptation that accompany life transitions, exploring resilience as well as the tension between fragility and strength. Rooted in psychology, neuroscience and philosophy, her work reflects an ongoing meditation on the way we move through rupture, uncertainty and change.

She is particularly interested in moments of fracture, whether emotional, psychological or existential, and in the way they become thresholds rather than endings. Cracks, layers, subtle imbalances and irregular contours are deliberate structural elements of her sculptures. Far from aesthetic accidents, they work as metaphors of opening. What seems broken becomes a source of creation.

Rather than concealing imperfection, Rosa amplifies it. Through material and form, she examines how vulnerability can coexist with endurance, and how instability can hold a quiet strength. Her work suggests that growth is not born of rigidity, but of responsiveness, of the willingness to bend, to open and to evolve.
